Vanraj Steel: Rs 8 lakh and job to next of kin of deceased worker

Jamshedpur, April 13: The next of kin of late Suresh Singh Sardar, contract worker killed in a mishap in Vanraj Steel Company, Chandil, would get a compensation of Rs 8 lakh and a temporary job. The company management reported agreed to the said benefits demanded by labour union leaders and the relatives of the deceased worker.

Sardar died on duty when maintenance work was going on in the company. He was badly burnt in the incident and was hospitalized. He died during treatment, sources said.

Local MLA Savita Mahato, relatives of the deceased and the company officials had held a tripartite talk to discuss over compensation demand raised by the family of the deceased and local labour leaders. An ex gratia payment of Rs 50,000 was given to the aggrieved family and a cheque of Rs 8 lakh was given as compensation.
