Value time that waits for none, respect elders and teachers: Bollywood Actress Mandakini in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Nov 7: The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Srinath University in association with the organizers of Jharkhand National Film Festival (JNFF), hosted a Talk Show with star Bollywood actress, Mandakini and Padma Shri Mukund Nayak.

The guests were given a traditional welcome featuring tribal percussion music. Srinath University Chancellor, Sukhdev Mahto, Vice Chancellor, Dr Govind Mahto and Nodal Officer, Laxmi Kumari welcomed the guests with bouquets. The Chancellor requested the guests to jointly light the inaugural lamp.

Other guests included  Sanjay Sathpathy, Uday Sathpathy and Santosh ‘Raju’ Mitra, founders of JNFF, Sarbani Mukherjee, celebrity manager and anchor, Shalini Prasad, member of the advisory board of JNFF, JNFF patron Purabi Ghosh and Nitisha Prasad, Creative head of JNFF.

Vice Chancellor, Dr Govind Mahto, while welcoming celebrity Bollywood starlet Mandakini, gave a brief appraisal of her qualities that made her a star. “She stamped every character she portrayed with unmistakable élan.”

The students of Srinath University added excitement to the occasion with their medley of cultural presentations. Rising to a thunderous ovation, Mandakini expressed her gratitude to the JNFF fraternity and Srinath University for the grand welcome. Padma Shri Mukund Nayak expressed his joy at being endearingly welcomed on the occasion. He concluded his brief talk with an awe-inspiring song rendition.

Hosting the talk show, Asst Professor of the Department of Mass Communications, Srinath University, Twinkle Gupta, prodded the star attraction of the event, Mandakini with questions pertaining to her exciting and impressive journey along Bollywood’s tinsel lane. The starlet shared, “During our times, film making was like a family affair but now things have attained a professional touch,” and added, “To make it big in the film industry, one needs talent, devoted, sincere and very hard work and, of course, a lot of luck so that one meets the right people to push you along the proper path in your journey.”

In conclusion, Mandakini turned philosophical while addressing the students. “Value your time because time waits for nobody and more importantly, respect your elders and teachers.”

After the talk show, Mandakini and Padma Shri Mukund Nayak were felicitated with mementos, shawls and saplings.
