Door to door survey from February 8
Jamshedpur, Feb 4: Children without having vaccination certificates will not be allowed to attend classes. An important meeting was held at Ravindra Bhawan, Auditorium, Sakchi by Nodal Officer Vaccination Cell-cum-District Supply Officer Rajeev Ranjan and Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee Special Officer Krishna Kumar along with principals of private schools, Anganwadi Sevika etc. regarding vaccination of 15-18 age group.

The nodal officer of the Vaccination Cell said that the target of vaccination of 166751 children in the age group of 15-18 years has been achieved in the district, in which 63 percent of the target has been achieved so far, whereas in urban areas only 55 percent children have taken the vaccine.

He gave clear instructions to all the school principals not to admit any child without checking the vaccination certificate. The nodal officer said that in the first phase, a house-to-house survey campaign would be conducted in 11 police station areas under Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee in urban areas from February 8, which would later be expanded to other areas. If 100% vaccination of children enrolled in a school has been done, then the concerned school management will submit the report to the district administration. Surprise inspection of schools will be done by the district officials, in which action will be taken against the school management if any discrepancy is found in the report.

A door-to-door survey campaign is to be conducted focusing on children who are not enrolled in any school, where the eligible children of 15-18 years will be vaccinated by the team of Vaccination Cell on the spot. ANM, Supervisor, Computer Operator etc. will be tagged along with Probationer Deputy Collector in the survey team. The nodal officer said that it will also be the responsibility of the survey team to ensure that any person between the age of 18 and 60 years, who has not taken the first, second or precaution dose, will ensure their vaccination.
Krishna Kumar said that just as the people of 18 have been freed from the danger of corona infection, in the same way their children have to be freed from this danger. It is the responsibility of all of us to show mutual participation in the vaccination campaign being run by the district administration so that the education of children which has been interrupted due to corona infection for the last two years can be restored.
