Jamshedpur, Feb 15: UCIL Visthapith Sanyukt Morcha (UVSM) at a meeting held in the Bhatin Panchayat Bhawan decided to give an ultimatum to the UCIL management against keeping mum on their nine point demands. The UVSM leaders said that if the UCIL management did not agree for talks with them by March 15 and did not show any positive attitude, the entire displaced persons and families would launch agitations if their nine point demands were not met.
UVSM spokesman Kushal Soren informed that they would move around villages and make the people aware of their rights. The nine point demands placed before the UCIL management include providing jobs to displaced persons through generations, to thwart UCIL privatization moves, to provide employment to displaced persons thrice a year, providing employment to displaced persons as per their educational qualifications among others. Among those present in the meeting were UVSM president Somay Kisku, Man Singh Besra, Manoj Hembram, Madan Das, Vikram Hembram, Dharm Tudu, Bhim Majhi, Lakhan Murmu, Durga Murmu and other members of the Morcha.
