Jamshedpur, Mar 18: The deteriorating condition of the public well situated in Cable Harijan Basti, Golmuri, has sparked widespread concern among residents, prompting a fervent plea for immediate remedial action.
A delegation led by Chintu Singh, the founder of Sanatan Utsav Samiti, convened on Monday to address the pressing issue. They met with Jamshedpur NAC Special Officer Krishna Kumar, submitting a memorandum highlighting the urgent need for the well’s cleaning.
The memorandum outlined the longstanding predicament faced by the community due to the accumulation of filth and garbage within the well. Being decades-old, the well serves as a crucial water source for residents, particularly for washing clothes. However, neglect has led to its contamination, endangering the health and well-being of numerous inhabitants.
In light of the dire situation, the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee has been urged to intervene promptly and initiate appropriate measures to restore the well’s functionality and hygiene standards.
The delegation included Ankit Anand, Appu Tiwari, Naveen Tiwari, Chintu Singh, Veer Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Lalit Rao, Sujal Kumar, Rahul Durge, Sunny Singh, Suraj Kumar, and Rohit, collectively advocating for the welfare of the community and the restoration of clean water access.
