Unseasonal rain and thunderstorms lash Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand is witnessing a sudden change in weather patterns, with heavy rainfall reported in several districts. Influenced by a Western Disturbance, Ranchi experienced heavy showers on Saturday, while light rain was recorded in Dhanbad earlier in the day. This unseasonal downpour has led to a noticeable drop in minimum temperatures across the region.
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for thunderstorms and hailstorms in multiple districts on Sunday. Residents have been advised to remain indoors and take necessary precautions for their safety.
According to the Meteorological Center in Ranchi, thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds are expected in 13 districts, including Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Giridih, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Khunti, Seraikela, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Simdega. Wind speeds are predicted to range between 40-50 km/h in some areas, while other regions may experience winds of 30-40 km/h.
In addition, strong winds are likely in Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Godda, Pakur, and Sahibganj.
The Meteorological Department has also indicated that the weather is likely to stabilize from February 24, with most parts of the state expected to see normal conditions. However, light clouds may persist, and isolated thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds cannot be ruled out.
