Ujjwala scheme transforming lives of womenfolk: Pawan Agrawal

Jamshedpur: Chief Minister’s representative Pawan Agrawal said the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala scheme had metamorphosed the lives of many women in the country. He said the Central government’s ambitious scheme aimed at reducing domestic pollution and prevent incidence of respiratory and other diseases caused by smoke generated by traditional stoves running on firewood, coal and other crude sources of energy.

Agrawal was addressing a gathering at Laxminagar Varistha Nagrik Bhavan on Thursday during distribution of free LPG connection and pension certificates among the beneficiaries. He said the Ujjwala scheme had lit up many households. He said the Central and state governments led by the BJP were doing a great job by implementing various development and welfare projects.

Agrawal said the benefits of various schemes such as old age and social security pension schemes would be sent directly to the bank accounts of beneficiaries.
Many people were present during the programme. They included Ramesh Nag, Babita Sharma, Deepak Jha, Manoj Srivastava, Panchu Ram, Sanjana Devi, Shashi Prabha Dixit and Suresh Sharma.
