UCIL sets up water tower at Kumhari village

Jamshedpur, Jan. 2: UCIL constructed a water tower at Kumhari village situated next to Malhudih Uranim Project.

The new water tower will benefit 300 adivasi families of the village who have been facing acute drinking water problem for years. On the initiative of President of Malhudih Kumhari Visthapit Kalyan Samiti, Chandrayi Hansda, the water tower was constructed by UCIL. The cost of the construction is about Rs 2.5 lakh.

The water tower was inaugurated by PN Sarkar, deputy general manager of UCIL in presence of N Patil, Girish Gupta, Chandrayayi Hansda, Sitaram Hansda, Ugar Hansda, Ravi Hansda, Sudhir Tudu, Jay Kishan Modi, Mansingh, Soren, Narsingh Murmu, Haradhan Soren, Divakar and other villagers were present.

Later addressing the gathering, PN Sarkar said, water towers will be constructed at several villages near Mahludih Uranium project which would help the villagers get drinking water facility specially during the summer season when the whole region is facing water shortage.
