Jamshedpur, Sept 26: Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) has credited its permanent employees’ bank accounts with the annual bonus on Friday, distributing a total of nearly Rs 10 crore.
The bonus, calculated at 55% of the basic salary, saw employees at the entry-level with a basic of Rs 27,000 receiving Rs 15,000, while senior-level staff with a basic of Rs 1 lakh were granted Rs 55,000.
This year’s payout covered personnel across UCIL’s seven uranium mines — Jadugoda, Baghjata, Bhatin, Narwa Pahar, Turamdih, Mahuldih, and Banduhurang Open Cast — as well as the Tummalapalle project in Andhra Pradesh.
The annual bonus practice was formalized after a week-long strike in 2022, led by Singhbhum Uranium Mazdoor Union president Babu Lal Soren, compelling the management to settle on a 55% basic salary bonus agreement.
The scheme guarantees a minimum of Rs 15,000 and a maximum of Rs 55,000 for employees each year.
The timely distribution has been welcomed across the workforce, marking another year of UCIL’s commitment to rewarding its employees.
