Jamshedpur, March 11: Tata Workers Union (TWU) president Sanjeev Choudhary Tunnu Saturday promised to provide higher education benefit to all eligible employees of Tata Steel. He also promised that the employees of all grades including NS Grade and Associates would get promotion. He was speaking during a committee meeting held at the new Bari Club House in Sakchi. The meeting was organized here due to ongoing repair work at the union auditorium.
Before the commencement of the meeting, the committee members paid floral tributes to several departed souls. The union general secretary Satish Singh read the minutes of the last meeting. TWU treasurer Harishankar Singh presented the accounts. A committee member AK Gupta raised objections to the accounts. His objections were addressed by the treasurer. Thereafter, retired committee members were bid farewell. The retired employees shared their experiences and stressed on strengthening the union. They praised the TWU president for doing a good job.
Addressing the workers, the TWU president said many initiatives had been taken in the larger interest of company employees. He said many such initiatives would be taken in the coming days. He presented his report card and said he had done his best for the welfare of all employees. He said the promotion related issues would be addressed in the due course and assured to find an amicable solution to all of them.
The TWU president said a uniform structure would be set up for promotion of employees. He said the employees who had done diploma at SNTI would be provided higher education benefit very soon. He said Tata Steel MD and CEO TV Narendran would most probably address the committee members next month and answer their queries.
