Jamshedpur, Feb. 17: In four separate road accidents, three persons were killed including two women and a 35-year-old man was seriously injured in the city and on NH-33 under Chandil police station area.
Two of those killed in the mishaps were identified as Hoka Singh Sardar (65), who is a resident of Kandra and Sumitra Gope (40), resident of Parsudih. The identity of the third person killed in the mishap is yet to be established.
The injured 35-year-old man who was identified as Sunil Sona, a resident of Northern Town in Bistupur.
The first mishap took place on Bistupur main road at about 11 am today, when Sunil, who works as a salesman in a shoe-shop on Bistupur main road was run over by a speeding bike. He has been admitted at the MGM Medical College and Hospital.
The second mishap took place at about 11.30 am when the bike Hoka Singh Sardar was riding was hit by an unidentified trailer at Chandil roundabout on NH-33. The police recovered the injured and rushed him to MGM Medical College and Hospital emergency, where he was declared as dead.
Sardar’s nephew, Vikram Singh Sardar said that his uncle was a former employee of DVC and was going to State Bank of India’s Chandil branch from his house in Kandra as the mishap took place.
The third mishap took place at Fadlugora on NH-33 under Chandil police station at about 3 pm, when a Jamshedpur-bound bus from Ranchi was overturned. In the mishap a 28-year old woman was killed on the spot and six others were injured. The injured have been taken to the MGM Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
The fourth mishap took place near Sunsuiya gate of Tata Steel on Burmamines-Sakchi Road under Burmamines police station area at about 4 pm, when a truck ran over a 40-year-old woman who was a pillion-rider on a bike.
The woman who was killed in the road mishap was Sumitra Gope, wife of Kandeya Gope, who is a prison guard in Ghaghidih Central Jail at Parsudih.
