Two teenagers commit suicide in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Jan 6: A 16-year-old girl from Jugsalai and a 17-year-old boy from Bagbera ended their lives on Sunday.

Khushi Jain, daughter of businessman Dilip Jain, was found hanging in her home near Station Road Gurudwara, Jugsalai. The incident occurred in the evening when her mother had gone to the kitchen after scolding Khushi for excessive mobile phone use and poor performance in her mathematics pre-board exam. The family rushed her to Tata Main Hospital (TMH), where doctors declared her dead. Her body has been sent for post-mortem. The Jugsalai police have initiated investigation in the incident.

In a separate case, Bittu Singh, a 17-year-old catering worker from Postunagar in Bagbera, was found hanging in his room on Sunday afternoon. His mother, who had gone out with his younger brother, discovered Bittu hanging after she returned home. Neighbours helped take Bittu to TMH, but he was declared dead upon arrival. The reason for his action is yet to be known. His father, Bablu Singh, works in Odisha. Police have started investigating the matter.
