Jamshedpur, August 21: Panic gripped the Kadma area of Jamshedpur on Wednesday after two 11-year-old girls went missing from outside the gate of River View English School in Ranikudar. The missing students, Habiba, a resident of Shastri Nagar Block No. 2, and Nida, from Dhatkidih, are close friends and study in the same class.
According to sources, both girls had attended school as usual but were reported missing shortly after leaving the premises. Their sudden disappearance has caused deep concern among their families and the local community.
As soon as the matter was reported, Kadma police reached the spot and began a thorough investigation. Police officers questioned the school administration and the families to gather more information. A search operation has been launched in nearby areas, and CCTV footage from around the school and adjoining routes is being scanned to trace their movements.
Family members said the girls were regular in their attendance and had never shown any signs of distress or unusual behaviour. “We are shocked and deeply worried. We just want our daughters to return home safely,” said a relative.
The families, along with local residents, have urged the police and district administration to take swift action.
Kadma police station in-charge assured that all possible efforts are being made. “We are investigating all angles with full seriousness. Teams are working to trace the children,” he said.
