Jamshedpur, July 11: Police recovered bodies of two private security guards from a well at Rajnagar block in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Monday morning.

The bodies of the security guards have been identified as that of Satyendra Jha (22), a resident of Bhagalpur district in Bihar, and Pravin Kumar (45), a resident of Barh district in Bihar.

Both the security guards were deputed at a crusher plant at Murum village in Rajnagar block and were missing from their post from Sunday. The police had, however, registered a case of abduction for murder.

Seraikela-Kharsawan superintendent of police, Indrajeet Mahatha said this is a case of murder after abduction.

“It is too early as to what led to the murder. After we received a formal complaint about the two missing guards, we swung into action to trace the victim out.

But early in the morning we received the information that two bodies were found in a well at Lakrakocha village, about three km away from the crusher plant.

We soon got the complainant to identify the bodies,” said Mahatha.

As per initial probe, there were marks of deep-cut injuries in the face, head and neck of the murder victim.

Sub-divisional police officer, K V Raman informed that the crusher plant set up in this tribal-dominated area was being run by Anish Murarka, a resident of Jamshedpur, since the past two years.

“As per our information though the crusher plant was set up for stone crushing, it was not running smoothly due to opposition by the local residents, who did not want the crusher plant to exist there,” said Raman.

He said the police have recovered the bodies and sent them to a referral hospital in Seraikela for autopsy.
