Jamshedpur: Police arrested two officials of an NGO for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 20,000 in Chaibasa (West Singhbhum) on Monday. The accused persons, identified as Sushil Kumar Srivastava and Dharmendra Dubey, are members of Lucknow-based outfit �Support For Implementation and Research�. Cops also confiscated Rs 1.68 lakh from their possession.
Sources said DDC Aditya Ranjan set up a team to catch the accused persons red-handed. Cops also seized three mobile phones and government files from the possession of the accused persons.
Sources said the Union Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Ministry had entrusted the said NGO with the task of conducting survey and evaluation of various government projects. Based on a tip-off, a team jointly led by the Sadar SDO and Chakradharpur BDO caught the accused persons. This was informed by the Sadar ADPO Amar Pandey.
