Jamshedpur, Oct 18: A case of sexual assault on two minor girls has been reported from a hotel in the Sakchi area.
Police have arrested four persons in connection with the incident, which occurred on the evening of October 16.
According to the police, the victims, both aged around 12 years, were allegedly lured to Kailash Hotel located in Sana Complex, Sakchi, by the accused, who then committed the offence.
Acting on a tip-off, the Sakchi police conducted a raid and apprehended all four suspects from the hotel premises.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Kailash Mishra of Bihar Green under Sonari police station, Karan Kumar Rana of Itkhori in Chatra district, Raunak Kumar Das alias Shreyash of Shastri Nagar Block No. 4, Kadma, and Tarun Sharma alias Golu of Sonari near CP Club.
Police informed that the victims have been sent to MGM Hospital for medical examination, and necessary legal procedures, including the recording of their statements before a magistrate, are being initiated.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused were known to each other and had planned the act in advance.
The police are also interrogating the hotel management regarding the circumstances under which the room was allotted and the lack of verification procedures.
The incident has drawn concern among residents, who have called for a fair and swift investigation to ensure justice for the victims.
