Jamshedpur, Oct 17: Two men lost their lives when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a stationary truck on the Chaibasa-Seraikela road under the jurisdiction of Seraikela Thana on Monday late night.
The victims, identified as Sohrai Gagrai and Bhanj Kumar Soy, were returning home to Seraikela after attending the last rites of a close relative in Chaibasa.
The tragic accident occurred around midnight on the unlit stretch of the Chaibasa-Seraikela road near Rutdih village. The motorcycle collided with the stationary truck, leading to severe injuries to Gagrai and Soy. Despite prompt intervention by a police party from Seraikela, both victims were critically injured and were immediately ferried to Seraikela Sadar Hospital, where they were declared dead upon arrival.
The news sent shockwaves through the community as the victims were returning from the funeral of Soy’s younger brother’s mother-in-law in Chaibasa.
Gagrai (55), was the brother-in-law of Soy (45). Both individuals were employed at an industrial unit in the Adityapur industrial area.
