Two members of racket stealing liquor from shops arrested

Seraikela: Seraikela police here on Tuesday arrested two persons for allegedly stealing liquor from two government liquor shops. Those arrested were identified as Nihar Mishra alias Bachcha and Mohammad Shamsher. They were nabbed in Jamshedpur.

SDPO Seraikela Avinash Kumar said those arrested were members of a racket carrying out thefts mostly in government liquor shops. The racket targeted several shops in Seraikela and Jamshedpur from November 2017 till date, he said.

Giving information about the gang�s modus operandi, the SDPO said, �The accused persons would cut the locks on the shutter of liquor shops and steal boxes containing various costly liquor brands. They had stolen liquor in Badra Gamharia, Sridungri, Rajnagar, Chandil, Ichagarh, Seraikela, Kharsawan and Sini so far.�

Police said they had confiscated two cars on the basis of information furnished by the accused persons. They said the CCTV cameras installed on the main road in Seraikela market helped them nab the culprits.
