Two looters arrested with arms from Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 23: Police arrested two persons in connection with several recent cases of loot crimes in the city here on Monday. They also confiscated arms from their possession.

Those arrested were identified as Vikas Gope, resident of Zone No 3, Birsanagar, and Sumit Mishra, resident of Vidyapati Nagar, Sidhgora. They were arrested during a raid in Birsanagar, said SP City K Vijay Shankar addressing a press conference at his office today.

Cops seized a pistol, four bullets, a silver chain and Rs 2500 in cash from the possession of the accused duo.

“The accused persons are members of a gang and were recently released from jail on bail. Vikas is the kingpin of the gang. We are looking for one more person, Lalu, who is the associate of the two,” said the SP.

According to police, Vikas and Sumit had looted a silver chain and Rs 4000 from one Jijisthi Lohar of Hurlung Laltand near Birsanagar Balram Talaab area around 6.30 pm on 21st May last,” said the SP.
