Jamshedpur: Five arrested with stolen jewelry, bikes

Jamshedpur, May 23: Police arrested five persons for stealing jewelry and motorcycle from a household in Sitaramdera on Sunday late night.

Those arrested were identified as Sahil Bhuiyan, Sintu Kumar, Rohit Karmakar, Jamawati Devi and Puja Bhuiyan. Cops have confiscated six bikes, five mobile phones, a bunch of master keys and jewelry from their possession, said SP City K Vijay Shankar at a press conference on Monday.

According to the SP, the accused persons had stolen jewelry and other valuables from the house of one Yogendra Singh on 13th May last. Yogendra was away with his family to attend a wedding ceremony. The accused persons had also stolen mobile phones from other places besides stealing motorcycles from various city places with the help of master keys, said the SP.

Jamawati Devi and Puja Bhuiyan used to sell the stolen jewelry for the other three accused. They have confessed their involvement in the crime, said the SP.
