Jamshedpur, Feb 16: During a Filariasis eradication campaign at Tinplate Khalsa School, approximately 200 students were administered medicines for filariasis and worms. Unfortunately, two girl students, Parvati and Lakshmi, both in fifth grade and residents of Lal Bhatti, Sidhgora, experienced a sudden deterioration in their health after taking the filariasis medicine.

Following the decline in their health, both girls were promptly admitted to MGM Hospital for immediate treatment. The twins are currently undergoing medical care at the hospital, and their conditions are reported to be improving.

The filariasis and deworming campaign is being conducted in various schools across the district as part of the Filaria Mukti Abhiyan. The team administering the medicine visited Tinplate Khalsa School on Friday, where 200 children were given filariasis medication.

Soon after consuming the medicine, Parvati and Lakshmi started experiencing symptoms such as vomiting and stomach ache. Concerned about their well-being, they were swiftly transported to MGM Hospital, where they are receiving necessary medical attention, including fluids.
