Two Jamshedpur men die in road accident in Chandil

Jamshedpur, January 8: Two city residents, identified as Iqbal Singh (40) and Mohammad Sultan (50), Tuesday died in a road accident on Chowka-Nimdih road near Chandil after being run over by a truck.

Sources said the mishap occurred around 10 am when the victims, riding a scooter, were knocked down by a speeding truck near Sirka on the national highway. The truck ran over the two after hitting them.

Police reached the scene on being informed by the villagers. The victims were pronounced dead on being taken to a health centre in Raghunathpur.

The family members and relatives of Iqbal Singh and Sultan mourned their tragic deaths in Bhalubasa and Mango Munshi Mohalla. Iqbal and Sultan died after being run over by a truck near Chandil on Tuesday.

Zila Parishad member of Nimdih, Anita Parit, visited the scene of accident and alleged that poor road condition had led to the mishap.


She said numerous lives were lost in road accidents till date. She demanded repair of the road from Pitki to Adardih.
