Jamshedpur, May 31: Two groups of residents of Gayatrinagar under Govindpur police station area clashed violently on Monday evening. The clash was triggered by a dispute between two youths. Swords were also reportedly used in the clash, causing injury to two persons.
One of the youths, supported by 25 others, reportedly assaulted the other at his shop and severely beat him up. They also allegedly snatched a gold chain and cash from the shop, sources said. The accused persons denied the allegations and accused the other side of assaulting them.
Police said the injured persons were admitted to MGM Hospital. They said they were probing into the incident to identify the culprits.
