Two injured as car knocks down bike in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 4: Two persons were seriously injured when a speeding car knocked down a motorcycle near Burmamines Durga Puja ground on Wednesday, police said.

The victims were identified as Chhotu Ram and Amar Singh, both residents of Chuna Bhatti Bhasti, Burmamines. They were taken to MGM Hospital where their condition was reportedly stable, sources said.

Sources said the mishap occurred when a car rammed into their stationary bike after overtaking an SUV. Both Chhotu and Amar were severely injured in the incident. By the time commuters and local shopkeepers came to their help, the car driver had fled the scene.

Police suspect the car driver was drunk at the time of the incident. They are searching for him with the help of CCTV cameras installed near the accident scene.
