Jamshedpur: In a major road mishap, two persons were killed and as many injured in a head-on collision at Telai village on Tata-Hata-Chaibasa road under Rajnagar police station area in adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district late last night.
Those killed were identified as Sujeet Kumar Bose, a resident of Chaibasa in West Singhbhum and Shankar Namta (52), a resident of Bagunhatu in Baridih locality of the city.
Drivers of both the car were also seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at the MGM Medical College Hospital.
Bose who was a senior advocate s�was returning back to Chaibasa from Hathikheda temple at Patamda in East Singhbhum district in a car late in the Wednesday night. As the car was negotiating the Tata-Hata-Chaibasa state highway, another car which was coming from the opposite direction collided with the other car.�
Two persons, including the drivers who were seated in both the cars were seriously injured.� OC, Rajnagar thana, Jitendra Kumar Singh rushed to the spot shortly and rescued the injured and sent them to primary health centre (PHC) at Rajnagar, where one of the injured, later identified as Shankar Namta succumbed to his injury.
The PHC authority referred rest of the injured to MGM Medical College Hospital from where Bose was shifted to Tata Main Hospital for better treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to the Tata Main Hospital.
OC, Rajnagar thana, Jitendra Kumar Singh said that both the car were at a break-neck speed and collided as one of them had deviated from it course of driving line.
