Jamshedpur, March 23: The police have arrested two accused involved in murder of private police driver on Tuesday.
Those arrested have been identified as Ajeet Sau and Popo Munda both resident of Baghbera. Six others involved in
murder are still absconding. Police have also recovered arms that were used in the murder. SSP Anoop T Mathew said they are conducting raids to nab others.
Twenty five year-old youth, Riyal alias Putkul was shot dead at Ramnagar under Bagbera police station area. Riyal a resident of Bedhadhipa bustee in Bagbera was hit with four bullets by unidentified assailants at Ramnagar. After killing him, the assailants fled the spot. Soon a section of local residents rushed the victim to Tata Main Hospital.
The doctors at the hospital’s emergency duty declared him as brought dead. “The victim had a criminal background, the local residents are not opening their mouths in apprehension. But we are trying to detect those involved in the crime,” said the officer.
The police officer said Riyal had done his night shift patrolling in Bagbera locality and after finishing the driving he had slept in the thana.
According to police, before taking to driving police vehicle, Riyal used to sell country-made liquor and was also accused in group clash in Bagbera locality. In sequel to the group clash in his locality, he was arrested and sent to jail two years ago.
