Jamshedpur: Violence erupted once again in Daiguttu locality of Mango on Monday late evening as two factions belonging to different communities fell out second time since Saraswati Puja immersion procession a couple of days back.
The situation was controlled following the deployment of paramilitary jawans and district police personnel.
Sources said the factions clashed in what came as a consequence of a similar clash between youths of the two communities earlier.
The clash had started during immersion of idols of Goddess Saraswati. Those involved in the incident again clashed this evening, sources said.
Alarmed over repetition of the incident, city police authorities reached the scene and tried to control the situation.
Armed police personnel were pressed into service to disperse the trouble-mongers from the scene.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Anoop T Mathew and other senior cops talked to local residents and tried to persuade the youths. He warned the factions against committing any breach of public peace and tranquility.
He said stringent action will be taken against those found guilty of involvement in attack on the opposite faction.
