Ranchi: Two persons died while three got seriously injured in a road accident near Bundu on the National Highway 33 on Saturday.
The incident happened under Dasham Fall police station area in the Taimara Valley. A car on its way towards Bundu was damaged after a truck passing close by overturned and fell on the car.
Big boulders of coal being carried on the truck fell on the car and crunched it. An elderly couple riding the car was critically injured in the incident.
The two died immediately on the spot. Commuters and local police rushed to the scene and took out the bodies and injured passengers. The injured were sent to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), Ranchi, where their condition was reportedly serious.
A long tailback of vehicles was seen on the highway after the incident. The vehicles were removed from the road to clear the traffic jam.
