Jamshedpur: The annual two day theatre festival organized by Karim City College in its auditorium, concluded today with two plays, Sadgati and Budha Bachcha, both directed by Shivlal Sagar.
The chief guests on the occasion were theatre gurus Hari Mittal and Md Nizam and the guest-of-honor was the College principal Dr Md Zakaria.
In his address, theatre thespian Hari Mittal rued that although Indias reputation lay in its adherence to culture and cultural pursuits, todays generation was moving away from such creative climes. We are internationally respected for upholding our rich culture and tradition of which theatre is an indelible chapter.
Unfortunately, we theatre persons are observing that the present-day generation is no longer interested in the various chapters of the performing media. Therefore it is all the more crucial that such theatre festivals are organized more often so that todays youth can perceive the depth of culture and heritage, he observed.
The proceedings were conducted by Professor Dr Yahiya Ibrahim. Sayyad Sajid Parwez performed a laudable role in organizing the entire show.
Among those present on the occasion were Professor Dr Md Riyaz, Dr Aftab Alam Ansari, Professor Gauhar Aziz, Janvi and other important dignitaries.
