Jamshedpur, Nov. 16: A team from Sakchi police led by DSP (City) Animesh Nathani arrested two persons in connection with a firing incident at a liquor shop in Sakchi on Saturday.
While the police raided a Sakchi area and arrested Kundan Singh alias Balram Singh, Manish Kumar alias Bittu was nabbed from RIT Adityapur. Two other accused Chandrabhusan Rai and Pankaj Kumar Singh are still at large and police are conducting raids at various locations.
East Singhbhum SSP, Anoop T Mathew said police recovered one country-made pistol, one live cartridge and a Hero Glamour motorcycle used in the crime. Mathew told media persons that they identified the accused after checking the CCTV footage. Subsequently, a team was set up nab them.
Talking about the incident, SSP said that on Friday some youths forcefully demanding liquor at the shop and were involved in a brawl when they were not obliged.
At around 9.30 on the following morning, two youths came to the shop and threatened to down shutters and open fire.
However, the shop owner didn�t take their threat seriously and also did not inform the police about it. At around 2.30 p.m., four motorbike-borne men came near the shop and fired bullets, Mathew added.
He said that police will continue to raid other places in search of the two absconding culprits.
