Twenty patients undergo surgeries at IRCS eye camp

Jamshedpur: The 509th eye checkup camp today saw 20 patients being operated upon for cataract and implantation of lenses.

The camp has been organized by the Indian Red Cross Society’s East Singhbhum chapter in association with Ram Manohar Lohia Netralaya, Chimanlal Bhalotia Seva Sansthan, Rajasthan Seva Sadan, Lions Club of Jamshedpur North and Gramin Swasthya Samiti.

The surgeries were performed by renowned eye specialists Dr BP Singh, Dr JS Bedi, Dr Sushil Bajoria, Dr Punam Singh and their team of assistants.

Lions Club of Jamshedpur North organized the camp in memory of late Ghanshyamji Khemka.

Those present during the eye surgeries were social worker Chandramohan Singh,Ram Manohar Lohia Netralaya presidentBalmukund Goyal, Manoj Kumar Bagri and others.

IRCS, East Singhbhum honorary secretary Vijay Kumar Singh informed that this camp was the last to be conducted in this session. Eye camps would again be organized from July 14 onwards.

He also informed that those operated on today would get a final checkup on Monday April 30 and then provided with appropriate glasses and medicines.
