Jamshedpur, August 7: A wild elephant broke the railway gate (down line) located in Sunsunia forest of Chakulia on Monday morning.
The elephant broke the gate while crossing the railway track after coming out of Sunsunia forest at around 6:00 am. The villagers somehow chased the elephant towards the forest. According to the villagers, a herd of wild elephants has gathered in the Sal forest on the banks of the railway track.
Coming out of the herd, a tusked elephant broke the gate. Here, the railway employees reached the spot and started repairing the gate. There was a crowd of villagers near the gate.
At the same time, due to breaking of the gate, trains are being run at a slow speed from Kokpada to Chakulia. It should be known that these days wild elephants are present in Chakulia. From Kokpada station to Gidhni in West Bengal, the up and down rail lines have passed through forests at many places. Elephants often travel by crossing the railway track. Due to this, there is a possibility of any major accident.
