Truck mows down senior citizen at Burmamines

Jamshedpur: A 70 year old man, identified as Nanu Yadav, died in a road accident near FCI godown under Burmamines police station area on Thursday.
Sources said the mishap occurred in the evening when the deceased, a resident of Premnagar, was crossing the road. A speeding truck knocked down the old man, killing him on the spot.

Police seized the truck and lodged an FIR against the errant driver who fled the spot soon after the incident. They said the death was caused by the truck driver�s recklessness.

Irked over the incident, local residents blocked the main road for several hours, demanding compensation for the next of kin of the deceased.
