Truck helper dies in LPG cylinder blast

Jamshedpur, Nov. 26: A truck helper (khalasi) died when an LPG cylinder exploded while he was preparing food at Baliguma, near Dimna Chowk, under MGM Police Station of Thursday morning.

Md. Taleem, a resident of Bihar, and other truck drivers were preparing food on a 5 kg LPG cylinder inside the vehicle when flames got out of reach.

Though the truck drivers threw the cylinder away, it exploded where Md. Taleem was sitting. The helper sustained severe burn injuries and was rushed to MGM College and Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

MGM police officials reached the hospital and sent the body for postmortem at MGM Hospital.
