Jamshedpur, June 16: In an unfortunate incident on Friday morning, a truck transporting potatoes (WB 33 C 7121) veered out of control and crashed into a tree on the Chakulia-Matihana road, near Barsol police station. The driver of the truck, identified as Uday Chakraborty (38) from Vishnupur in Bankura district, West Bengal, suffered severe injuries in the accident. Local residents immediately alerted the 108 ambulance service, and Chakraborty was transported to the Community Health Center in Baharagora for medical treatment where he succumbed to injuries.
The truck, loaded with potatoes destined for Odisha from West Bengal, lost control and collided with a tree in close proximity to the PanchayatBhavan. Upon the truck’s impact with the tree, villagers gathered around the scene, quickly seizing the opportunity to gather the scattered potatoes. Many sacks of potatoes were carried away by the villagers before the authorities arrived. Upon receiving the information, the Barsol police station dispatched officers to the location. An investigation into the incident is currently underway, with the police working diligently to ascertain the cause of the accident and gather relevant evidence.
