Tributes paid to bravehearts on Police Commemoration Day in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 21: A solemn ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Police Lines, Golmuri, to mark Police Commemoration Day, honouring the police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) paid floral tributes at the Shaheed Smarak (Martyrs’ Memorial), leading officers and personnel in remembering the courage and sacrifice of the fallen heroes.

The event began with the laying of wreaths at the memorial, followed by two minutes of silence to pay homage to the martyrs.

In his address, the SSP said that the supreme sacrifice made by police personnel in the line of duty is the department’s “most cherished legacy” and will never be forgotten.

City and rural Superintendents of Police, alongwith other senior officials and members of the police fraternity, also offered flowers at the portraits of the martyrs.

The SSP honoured the families of the fallen personnel by presenting them with traditional garments (ang vastra) and tokens of respect.

Tears filled the eyes of many family members, mingled with pride for their loved ones’ service to the nation.

The SSP assured them that the administration remains steadfastly committed to their welfare and will continue to uphold their rights and dignity.

Officers personally interacted with the families to console them and express gratitude for their sacrifice.

Throughout the ceremony, an atmosphere of discipline, reverence, and emotion prevailed.

The assembled police force took an oath of allegiance, pledging to remain dedicated to duty and the nation’s security.

The programme concluded with the national anthem, bringing to a close a heartfelt tribute that underscored the values of courage, sacrifice, and duty that define the police service.

A large number of police officials, home guards, and family members of the police fraternity attended the event, which stood as a poignant reminder of the indomitable spirit of those who serve and protect.
