Dayanand Public School Hosts ATL Community Day to Foster Innovation

Jamshedpur: Dayanand Public School organized an Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) Community Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Following NITI Aayog guidelines, the event invited students and teachers from various regional schools to promote scientific inquiry and collaborative learning.

Focus on 21st Century Skills

Participants worked in inter-school teams to design and present projects that demonstrated the “4Cs”: Communication, Creativity, Collaboration, and Critical Thinking. Students reported that the opportunity to exchange ideas with peers from different institutions provided valuable insights for their future technical endeavours.

Technological Highlights and Innovations

The event featured live demonstrations of several student-led projects focusing on robotics, automation, and environmental monitoring:

• Smart Infrastructure: Students showcased a Radar System using ultrasonic sensors for submarine navigation and a Smart Car Parking System that identifies available spaces in real time.
• Automation Tools: Innovations included an Automated Attendance Machine that syncs data with digital sheets and an Automatic Water Dispenser designed for touch-free hygiene.
• Robotics: Highlights included a Racer and Vacuum Cleaner Robot, a Dirt Rally vehicle capable of obstacle avoidance, and Path Following autonomous robots.
• Sustainability Solutions: Teams presented a Water Level Indicator to prevent overflow, Motion-Sensing Staircase Lighting for energy efficiency, and a Rain Drop Detection system for environmental monitoring.
• Agriculture: The Farm Tech Innovation project demonstrated technology-driven support systems for smart farming practices.
