Jamshedpur: The 106th birth anniversary of Lako Bodra, the creator of the Warang Chiti script of the Ho tribal community, was observed with reverence in Sitaramdera today. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Mahabir Murmu, along with party leaders and workers, paid floral tribute at his statue and remembered his invaluable contributions.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahabir Murmu said that Lako Bodra’s life and work will continue to inspire the Ho community towards education and social progress. “By inventing the Warang Chiti script for the Ho language, he gave our community not just a medium of writing, but also a distinct literary and cultural identity. His contribution is historic and unforgettable,” he said.
The tribute programme was attended by several leaders and supporters, including Nandu Sardar Abhijit Sarkar (Nantu), Ashok Yadav, Vijay Mahato, Rajan Kaibarta, Ranu Mandal, Ramesh Soy Pradhan, Devgam, Krishna Gaud, Rocky Singh Rathore, Dinesh Yadav, Vicky Mardi, and others.
