Gifts schemes worth Rs 201 crore to West Singhbhum
Ranchi, September 8: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren said that tribals never compromise with self-respect and come out stronger amidst challenges and troubles.
Speaking after paying homage to tribal martyrs of Gua firing case at Gua in West Singhbhum district on Sunday, Hemant Soren hinted at his facing jail-term earlier this year said, “Tribal martyrs will remain ideal for us and for the coming generations. We can take Jharkhand to new direction following their ideals. Tribal do not compromise with their honor and self-respect. Even if they have to sacrifice themselves for this.”
The Chief Minister said that when the blood running in the veins of the tribal natives boils, they exert all their strength for their rights and entitlement.
“The more the blood of the tribals falls on the ground, the more tribal heroes are born. Tribals do not disintegrate due to struggles but come out stronger. I can claim that just as we got Jharkhand as a separate state after a long fight, in the same way we are working to make this state stronger. I had to face jail for seeking legitimate rights of the state and outstanding coal royalties worth Rs 1.36 lakh crore,” alleged Soren.
“With the assembly elections near there is conspiracy to put me and my family again in jail,” said Soren.
Incidentally, Hemant Soren was arrested by Enforcement Directorate in January this year after his resignation on January 31 and had to be in jail till June before being released on bail after order by Jharkhand High Court.
The Chief Minister said that even today a large population in the rural areas of the state is forced to live a life of poverty. Here they remain trapped in the clutches of middlemen and brokers.
“In order to end dependence on middlemen our government came up with many schemes with the aim of strengthening the rural system and financial assistance for poor to empower them. In the coming year our government will provide one lakh rupees every year to every household, so that you do not have to take loan from anyone,” said Soren.
“The centre owes us Rs 1.36 lakh crore as coal royalty If we get this money, we will completely change the condition and direction of Jharkhand,” claimed Soren.
In this programme, the Chief Minister inaugurated 96 schemes at a cost of Rs 201.83 crore.
