Jamshedpur, July 6: The ancestral land of Menjo Hembram, a resident of Haludbani Namotola under Parsudih police station has allegedly being encroached upon by local bullies.
Even on coming around the land, the woman and her family members are being threatened with dire consequences. Due to fear none of the family members of Manjo Hembrum are not going there.
On the other hand, the family members are scared due to no action being taken by the Parsudih police station in this matter. Finally, a complaint was made to the Jamshedpur Circle Officer.
Menjo Hembram told that the said land is in the name of his grandfather and father-in-law.
On June 18, Debu Gope, Shibu Gope, Chhotka Gope, Tanu Gope, his wife Basanti Gope and Sunita Gope came to his land and forcibly started digging.
. Menjo Hebram told that on the day of the incident they also hurled vulgar and caste-related abuses.
After this incident, a complaint was lodged in the police station. But no action was taken. Menjo Hembrum told that her ancestral land is being encroached upon by other people. But they are not getting protection from the administration. Being a tribal, she also complained to the SC-ST police station in Birsanagar. But no action was taken.
She demanded the Circle Officer to impose Section 144 on the land in this matter.
