Jamshedpur, Feb 22: Winners of the Garden of the year contest organized by Horticultural Society Jamshedpur, sponsored by Tata Steel & JUSCO, from 9th to 12th Feb.’2014 were felicitated on Saturday, Feb 22.
There were 117 nos of participants participated in the above contest in six different categories. The different categories were Individual House / Bungalow, Individual Flat,
Individual Terrace, Institution, Corporate Houses and Bungalows Maintained by Companies.
The winners of the contest were for Individual Terrace: Mrs. Ratnabali Sengupta (First) – Overall Champion and Mrs. Rupa Lahiri (Second). For Individual Flat: Mrs. Prerana Todi
(First) – Overall Champion and Mrs. Satya (Second). In Individual House / Bungalow: Mrs. & Mr. D. C. Rodrigues (First) Overall Champion, Mrs. & Mr. Vijay Mehta (Second) and Mr. T. Babu Rao (Third). In the Institution category Sai Temple (First) Overall Champion, CSIRNML (Second) and Beldih Club (Third). In Bungalows Maintained by Companies: Mrs. & Dr. J. J. Irani (First)
– Overall Champion, Mrs. & Mr. Anand Sen (Second) and Mrs. & Mr. Tarun Daga (Third). In the corporate houses: M/s. TRF Limited (First) – Overall Champion, M/s. IEL Tata Power – 6 (Second) and M/s. Blue Scope (Third).
The prize distribution ceremony was organised on 22nd February at Institute of Engineers India, Pipeline Road Sakchi were Mrs. Ruchi Narendran, Chairperson, Horticultural Society, Jamshedpur graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes to the winners.
The next Garden of the Year competition will be held on 11th January’2015.
Garden of the year is an annual feature like Annual Flower Show which was introduced by Horticultural Society, Jamshedpur. This is an initiative by the members of HSJ, to encourage garden lovers of Jamshedpur to develop gardens and crates an opportunity to share knowledge and skill for the improvement of the garden. This is our endeavor to make Jamshedpur a Green
and beautiful city.
