Jamshedpur, March 11: Women employees of TRF and members of the TRF Ladies Association comprising spouses of the companys male employees took one more concrete step, though small, to bring power to women on the occasion of International Womens Day.

The International Womens Day at TRF was observed in a meaningful way by setting up long-term solutions to issues related to women from the surrounding community.

The Astitva Kendra a non-profit making centre, run by TRF Ladies Association for empowering young girls from the neighboring community, through skill training, turned a new leaf by opening the centre to general public.

The center, which currently has over 30 trainees on roll, had been taking orders from the company and the in-house kshar school, will now be executing tailoring jobs received from the general public.

This small step has provided instant market linkage to the center as scope of business has now been widened. This step will also help to enhance the earning capacity of those undergoing training at the center.

Earlier, on the occasion of International Womens Day, the ladies undertook a voluntary visit to Nirmal Shishu Bhawan and Ashirwad Bhawan and donated critical domestic appliances such as ceiling fans, exhaust fans, steel racks and nourishing food items.

The ladies also organized entertainment programs for the residents with a view to cheer them up and break the monotony of their dull life.
