Jamshedpur, Nov 17: A 35-year-old TRF employee, Sanjeet Kumar Upadhyay, was found dead under suspicious circumstances after attending a birthday party in Daiguttu Kaveri Road under Mango police station area.
His family alleges that his friends deliberately served him toxic liquor, leading to his death.
A case has been registered, and police have begun investigating.
According to the family, Sanjeet’s condition worsened soon after consuming alcohol at the party on Saturday night.
His friends informed his elder brother, who brought him home, as Sanjeet’s wife was away at her maternal house.
The next morning, Sanjeet was found unconscious. He was rushed to Tata Main Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
His relatives claim that he attended the party with friends identified as Rahul Tiwari, Ramesh, Tej Pratap Singh, Teju, Mohan Singh, Vijendra Singh, Narendra Singh, Aakash and others, accusing them of giving him spiked liquor.
All of them have reportedly been missing since the incident.
Police are awaiting the post-mortem report and have intensified the search for the absconding suspects.
The incident has created grief and anger in the Daiguttu locality, with the family demanding justice and strict action.
