Jamshedpur: Torrential rain since Wednesday night has severely disrupted normal life in Jamshedpur and its surrounding areas. In view of the continuous downpour, DAV Public School in Bistupur had declared a holiday for all students from Nursery to Class XII on Thursday as a precautionary measure. Teachers were also granted leave, although the school office remained open.
The heavy rains caused a large tree to fall near Gate No. 4 of DAV Public School, damaging the school’s boundary wall and blocking traffic in the area. The school administration has initiated efforts to remove the fallen tree and restore normal access.
Meanwhile, several low-lying areas of the city are experiencing severe waterlogging, causing major inconvenience to residents and disrupting vehicular movement. Commuters faced long delays due to submerged roads and poor visibility.
