Jamshedpur: An e Patrolling App has been launched for protection of passengers and goods. RPF is testing the new app. With the introduction of the e Patrolling App, train escorts will be reduced from 10 to four RPF personnel for train escort duty.
The App will be introduced from January in long distance trains like Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto expresses.
As of now, the Chakradharpur Rail Division has directed all RPF inspectors and other senior officials to download the new App. All rail escorts will have to download the App. Presently, the personnel on train escort duty use wireless and CUG mobile numbers for communication. All mail and express trains will be installed with Prefabricated QR Code.
Personnel on train security duty and officers will scan the e Patrolling App every two hours by scanning the QR Code. This will enable the Chakradharpur rail division or the South Eastern railway zone to keep track of the personnel on security duty in trains. In cases of emergency, forces will be sent to locations where RPF-RPSF jawans are located. RPF have been authorized to get Call Detail Report.
To control incidences of crime the railways will shortly introduce a cyber cell and a science lab will be setup for forensic tests. Earlier the security personnel on escort duty were trained in bomb defusing methods.
