Jamshedpur: With the aim of cutting down on electricity consumption, the state government had initiated Ujala Yojna. But all post offices in the district that are authorized to supply LED bulbs have run out of stock since the last two months. As a result, consumers under the scheme are not getting the fused bulbs replaced which have a three year warranty.
About two months earlier complaints started coming in to the post offices of fused bulbs to be replaced. With no stock of Ujala LED bulbs, the replacements were being hampered. An agreement was signed with Siska company. The main post office at Bistupur sees the sale of approximately 200 LED bulbs daily.
Between 60 and 70 Ujala bulbs come for replacement everyday. But due to no availability of stock, consumers have to go away disappointed. However, there have been many correspondences with the Ujala LED bulb manufacturers over replacement stock.
