Jamshedpur: In preparation for the upcoming Ghatsila Assembly by-election, a training programme for sector officials and sector police officers was organized under the directive of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi.
The participants were briefed on their roles and responsibilities in ensuring that the election is conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner. Officials were reminded that sector officers act as a vital link between the Election Commission, district administration, and polling teams. Their duties include regular inspection of polling stations, providing support to polling personnel, ensuring the availability of polling materials and machines, and overseeing basic facilities at polling centers.
Similarly, sector police officers were instructed on maintaining security at polling stations, ensuring vigilance at sensitive booths, preserving law and order, and creating a safe environment for voters. Trainers emphasized that coordination between sector officials and sector police will be crucial to making the electoral process transparent, impartial, and smooth.
Additional guidelines related to the conduct of elections were also shared during the session, with a call for officials to discharge their responsibilities with utmost diligence and coordination.
