Dhalbhumgarh: The service road along NH-18 between Dhalbhumgarh and Narsinghgarh has turned perilous, witnessing a tragic incident on Friday night. The road has become a hotspot for accidents due to encroachment and truck parking on both sides. Numerous accidents, some fatal, have occurred in this area.
In the latest incident, a pedestrian attempting to cross the service road from the other side was hit by a bike, resulting in a fatal accident. The impact of the collision caused the pedestrian to be thrown onto the highway, where his leg was critically crushed by a trailer coming from behind. The victim, identified as Suraj Singh (24) from Jodshol, was on his Pulsar bike heading towards Baharagora from the service road.
Heera Gayan (43), a resident of Narsinghgarh, was crossing the road at the time of the accident. Eyewitnesses reported that Heera Gayan fell on the road after colliding with Suraj Singh’s bike. Subsequently, Suraj Singh fell on the other side with the bike and sustained injuries. Unfortunately, Heera Gayan was struck by a high-speed trailer, resulting in a broken leg and injuries to other parts of his body.
Promptly, SI Jitendra Kumar and Naushad Ahmed from Seva Hi Dharma Group arrived at the scene. The injured were rushed to the Community Health Center (CHC), where Heera Gayan was referred to MGM for further treatment. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment. After post-mortem, his last rites were performed on Saturday.
