Jamshedpur: Traffic congestion has become a day to day problem for the residents of Sakchi and nearby areas. Due to frequent traffic jams at Sakchi Main Road, especially between Sakchi roundabout to Howrah Bridge via Basant Cinema, driving vehicles turns nightmarish for the motorists and also threatens to lead to casualties.
The main reasons behind the road rush are encroachment on the road side by vendors, shopkeepers and parking of vehicles in a reckless manner.
Many a times government officials have taken initiatives to remove encroachment in these areas but all their efforts seem to have gone in vain.
Despite there being a big parking lot beside Basant Cinema, few people care to park their vehicles at the appropriate place.
District police officials are planning to take action against traffic violators after counting of votes scheduled to be held on 16th June.
