Seraikela: A traffic checking drive was organized near the Seraikela Sub-divisional office on Friday.
Several vehicles were seized as their drivers reportedly flouted traffic norms. Many drivers were found to be driving without helmet.
Some of the drivers did not possess driving licence. The district transport officer (DTO) Anup Kishore Sharan led the campaign jointly with the assistant engineer of road construction department Manoj Kumar Jha.
Jha appealed to drivers to strictly adhere to traffic norms and wear helmets compulsorily to save their lives.
The motorists were also asked not to allow minors below 16 years of age to drive motorcycles.
